Rikard Landberg
Full Professor at Food and Nutrition Science
Professor Rikard Landberg is the Head of Division of Food and Nutrition Science, Department of Life Sciences at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
He has a background in food science from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, in molecular nutrition from Karolinska Institutet and did a postdoc visit at Harvard School of Public Health in 2009.
His research is focused on the health effects of foods, food components and whole diets with emphasis on their role in cardiometabolic diseases, appetite regulation and weight management.
The overall aim of the research is to better understand underlying mechanisms, find new targets for prevention and develop the basis for more precise dietary advice using data-driven methods and OMICs. Metabolomics is a key technique used for discovery and validation of exposure- and prediction biomarkers, and for molecular phenotyping as the basis for tailored dietary strategies for personalized nutrition.
Professor Landberg has authored ~210 papers, ~10 book chapters, delivered ~40 invited/keynote lectures and is the editor of one book. He has an H-index of 42 according to Scopus. Professor Landberg is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and of the National Committee for Nutrition and Food Science at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
